Puppy Applications
Bringing a BEARs Beagle into your home is a long-term commitment, and I take that responsibility seriously. This application helps me get to know you, your lifestyle, and what you are hoping for in your next companion. There are no right or wrong answers, only honest ones.
I raise a small number of carefully planned litters each year with a focus on health, structure, soundness, and preserving a functional, versatile Beagle. Matching each puppy to the home that fits them best is the foundation of my program.
Please take your time, answer thoughtfully, and reach out if you have any questions before or after submitting your application.

FAQ

Do you have puppies available now?
Because I breed sparingly and with intention, I do not always have puppies available. Most litters are reserved in advance. Approved applicants may be added to a waitlist until the right match becomes available.
How long is the wait for a BEARs puppy?
Wait times vary depending on your preferences and what you are hoping for in a companion. Families open to a wider range of traits may match sooner, while families with more specific requirements may wait longer. I will always be honest about realistic timelines.
Can I request a gender, variety, or color?
Yes, you are welcome to share preferences.
However, height variety (13 inch vs 15 inch) cannot be accurately predicted when puppies are young, so this is considered a preference only, not a guarantee. Adult height is influenced by both genetics and individual development.
Gender and color preferences may be honored depending on availability, but they may extend your wait time.
How do you match puppies to homes?
Puppies are evaluated for temperament, structure, energy level, and individual personality. Matches are made based on where each puppy will thrive long term, not on a first-come, first-served basis. Your application and our conversations help guide this process and ensure a thoughtful placement.
Do you allow visits?
For the safety of young puppies, nursing mothers, and the kennel as a whole, I do not allow in-person visits until puppies are older and vaccinated. Families receive regular updates, photos, videos, and milestones throughout the entire process.
What comes with a BEARs puppy?
Every BEARs puppy goes home with a complete starter package, including:
• Age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming
• Full veterinary exam
• Microchip
• AKC registration paperwork
• Starter food
• A scent blanket from the litter
• Printed puppy guide and resources
• Toys and comfort items
• 30 days of complimentary pet insurance
• Lifetime breeder support
Do you health test your dogs?
Yes. All breeding dogs are health tested to the National Beagle Club's recommended requirements, including age-appropriate screenings for cardiac, eyes, thyroid, and genetic conditions.
Not all testing may be uploaded to OFA at every moment. You are always welcome to contact me directly for the most current health testing status on any of my dogs.
Do you offer show or performance prospects?
Yes. BEARs produces puppies suitable for conformation, scentwork, agility, rally, and other sports. Families interested in competition or performance prospects will be matched based on structure, temperament, drive, and long-term goals.
Do you sell breeding rights?
No. Puppies are placed on limited registration with spay and neuter requirements. Breeding rights are only considered under a co-owned arrangement with a proven, reputable program.
What is your deposit policy?
Deposits are accepted only after approval and confirmation of a planned placement. Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to a future litter if necessary.
What if I can no longer keep my dog?
Your BEARs Beagle is always welcome back. At any age. For any reason. If life circumstances change, your dog must return to me. This is a lifelong commitment to their safety and wellbeing.
Will a Beagle be a good fit for my home?
Beagles are intelligent, affectionate, curious, and social dogs. They thrive with routine, enrichment, positive reinforcement training, and companionship.
I encourage all potential buyers to thoroughly familiarize themselves with the breed before applying. You can learn more on my Form, Function, and Understanding the

Can I choose my puppy?
You are welcome to share your preferences, but final placement is based on temperament, structure, and long-term fit. This ensures each puppy is matched to the home where they will thrive.
